Helsinki

Helsinki, the capital of Finland in the south of the country, is located on a peninsula in the Gulf of Finland. Its central avenue, Mannerheimintie, is lined with institutions such as the National Museum, which traces the history of Finland from the Stone Age to the present day. Also in Mannerheimintie is the imposing Parliament House and the Kiasma contemporary art museum. Uspenski's ornate red-brick cathedral overlooks the harbor.
