Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan province in southwestern China. Chengdu's history dates back to at least the 4th century BC. C., when it was the capital of the Kingdom of Shu. The Jinsha Museum focuses on artifacts from that dynasty. The city is also home to the famous Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, a conservation center where visitors can see endangered giant pandas in a natural habitat.
