Lagos is the largest city in Nigeria. It is located in the interior of the Gulf of Guinea and surrounds part of the Lagos lagoon. Victoria Island, the financial center of the metropolis, is known for its beach resorts, luxury shops and nightlife. To the north, the island of Lagos is home to the National Museum of Lagos, which exhibits cultural artifacts and handicrafts. Nearby is Freedom Park, once a colonial-era jail and today a major venue for concerts and public events.
