Bogota

Bogotá is a sprawling, high-altitude city and the capital of Colombia. In La Candelaria (the cobblestone center of the city) there are monuments from the colonial era such as the Teatro Colón, in neoclassical style, and the church of San Francisco, which dates back to the 17th century. Bogotá is also home to popular museums, such as the Museo Botero, which hosts exhibitions of the works of Fernando Botero, and the Museo del Oro, which exhibits pre-Columbian gold pieces.
