Vigo is a city located on the northwest coast of Spain. The mouth of the nearby Vigo estuary is protected by the Cíes Islands, which are part of the Galician Atlantic Islands National Park. The Cíes are known for their variety of birds and for Rodas beach, which is crescent-shaped and links two of the islands. In the old quarter of the city is the Vigo Cathedral, in neoclassical style. The archaeological site of the Castro de Vigo has reconstructed old houses.
