Luxembourg is the capital of the small European nation of the same name. It was built between deep gorges, cut by the Alzette and Pétrusse rivers, and is famous for its ruins of medieval fortifications. Bock Casemates' extensive network of tunnels encompasses a dungeon, a prison and the Archaeological Crypt, considered to be the birthplace of the country. Along the ramparts high above, the Chemin de la Corniche promenade has impressive viewpoints.
