Leipzig is a city in the state of Saxony, in the eastern part of Germany. The Stadtgeschichtliches Museum Leipzig is housed in the Renaissance-style Old Town Hall on the central Markplazt and contains the history of the city. The late-Gothic St. Thomas Church is famous for its boys' choir concerts, as well as for housing the remains of composer J. S. Bach. The church of San Nicolás was the meeting point for the Monday Demonstrations, which led to the fall of communism in 1989.
