Minneapolis is a major city in the state of Minnesota. Together with the state capital, neighboring St. Paul, they make up the largest metropolitan area in the state, so they are popularly known as "Twin Cities". Minneapolis is divided by the Mississippi River and is famous for its parks and lakes. It also has many historic sites, including the Walkter Art Center, a contemporary art museum, and the adjacent Minneapolis Sculpture Park, famous for Claes Oldenburg's spoon and cherry sculpture.
