Panama City

Panama City is a modern capital located next to the Pacific Ocean and the artificial canal of the same name. Casco Viejo is the historic center, whose cobblestone streets are home to colonial-era monuments, such as the neoclassical Presidential Palace, and plazas with bougainvillea-filled cafes and bars. From the Miraflores locks you can see the ships that cross the canal. This represents a fundamental transport route, since it connects the Atlantic Ocean with the Pacific.
