Paula Fernández-Ochoa, consultant and speaker in high competition environments, both in sport and business, and specialist in personal branding and motivation, attended the Círculo Ecuestre last Tuesday, February 27, to inspire club members with his interesting look at the world and his knowledge about personal growth.

Under the CE TALK format and after the welcome and presentation by Enrique Lacalle, President of the Círculo Ecuestre, the speaker held a dialogue with Tirso Gracia, member of the Executive Committee of the Círculo Ecuestre.

The lawyer by training and daughter of the legendary skier Paco Fernández-Ochoa, gold in the 72nd Sapporo Olympic Games, explained to the attendees the tools that helped her overcome the “toughest sporting test” of her life, the 37th edition of the Marathon des Sables (MDS): 250 kilometers of race through the Sahara Desert that he managed to complete last April 2023.

The Member of the Board of Directors and Head of the Women and Snow Area of the Royal Spanish Winter Sports Federation and Member of the Equality Commission of the Spanish Olympic Committee, argued that, “although the race is a great test of resistance and physical strength, it is also a mental challenge that allows valuable lessons to be learned along the way.”

Great reception from the public

Beyond the great sporting result, Paula explained how to apply the values learned during her sporting career to the business area and to day-to-day life to become high-performance professionals and enjoy a full life. The professional's life lesson was pleasantly received by the attendees, who applauded her recent milestones and were grateful that she provided such useful knowledge.
