This Thursday, the Círculo Ecuestre held an act of homage to Maria Eugenia Gay, in recognition of her work at the head of the Government delegation in Catalonia over the last year. Gay, has recently announced that she will be number two for the PSC candidate for mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni, in the municipal elections on May 28.

During the event, Gay was accompanied by her successor, Carlos Prieto, as well as some prominent members of the club and other institutions, such as the president, Antonio Delgado; the vice president, Enrique Lacalle; the General Inspector of the Army, Lieutenant General Manuel Busquier; the Superior Police Chief of Catalonia, Luis Fernando Pascual; the third deputy mayor of Barcelona, Laia Bonet; the member of the Círculo Ecuestre José María Cardellach; her father, Eugeni Gay; the head of the Civil Guard in Catalonia, General José Luis Tobar; and Carles Tuquets, also a member of the Círculo Ecuestre.

Maria Eugenia Gay (Barcelona, 1975) is a lawyer Graduated in Law from the University of Barcelona-Abat Oliba CEU. She has a master's degree in Mediation from the Barcelona Bar Association, 2006. Before becoming a Government Delegate, she was dean of the Col·legi de l'Advocacia de Barcelona (ICAB).
