The palace that houses the Círculo Ecuestre received hundreds of visits on the weekend of October 22 and 23.
The reason? The institution's participation in the 48h Open House architecture festival.
The building located at the confluence between Balmes street and Diagonal avenue experienced days of queues of more than three hours of waiting, as reported by the festival organizers. The Círculo Ecuestre mansion was one of the most visited buildings, to the point that the institution had to close the queue before the crush of visitors.
The attendees were able to enjoy the beauty and variety of the spaces found inside the building built in 1910. They learned first-hand the history of the old home of the Pérez-Samanillo family, a mansion built by the architect Juan José Hervás Arizmendi in and decorated by Joan Esteva.
At the close of its 13th edition, the architecture festival received a total of 76,400 visits and evidenced the great demand for knowledge of architecture in Barcelona. In addition, it allowed Barcelona society to discover the interior of the Círculo Ecuestre, one of the most elegant and sophisticated heritage buildings in the city.
