The Círculo Ecuestre received this Tuesday, November 8, the economist Gonzalo Bernardos, who came to make an X-ray of the Spanish economy before the partners of the club.
After the welcome from Antonio Delgado, President of the Círculo Ecuestre, Bernardos held an interesting dialogue with Manel Manchón, Deputy Director of Metrópoli Abierta, who acted as event moderator.
The colloquium began with an assessment of the last phases of the economy in Spain by the economist. Bernardos explained that the 1980s, in which there were great advances that catapulted the country, later spoke of the "Zapatero management failure", which, in his opinion, , “plunged Spain into misery”.
After reviewing the decades of complications that Spain has had to face, the economics expert predicted to the Equestrian partners that "in this country there are going to be many opportunities , but it will be difficult to find workers". He also bet that in the coming years "we are going to have a much more industrialized economy" in which "specialization will be valued".
Manchón wanted to focus on Barcelona's local economy, to which Bernardos accused the Barcelona mayor's office of pigeonholing and worsening Barcelona's projection: "Barcelona has nothing like cruising speed, it's like a Ferrari from which the Colau mechanics have removed the wheels".
After charging against the state government and the management of the European Union, the economist opted for "the important role that investment funds will play in the future" , which "will say goodbye to speculative capitalism".
