The Círculo Ecuestre once again enters the exciting world of travel and unknown cultures. Due to the open and culturally restless personality that characterizes the Barcelona club, last Wednesday, February 8, a new travel commission was presented.
Partners and adventure lovers
Juan Corona, one of our partners who has traveled the world and who is known for being passionate about adventure travel, was in charge of carrying out the presentation.
Accompanied by Jordi Ferrer, partner and owner of the reputable travel agency Ferrer & Saret, both discovered in front of the partners and the President of the Círculo Ecuestre, Antonio Delgado, who also did not want to miss the presentation, some of the exciting routes that are offered in this edition.
They also revealed the name with which they have decided to baptize the commission. Its promoters wanted to pay tribute to Domingo Badía (1767-1818), the man who for years hid his identity under the pseudonym Ali Bey and who was the first Spaniard and one of the first Europeans to enter Mecca. Domingo Badía is also remembered for having been confused with an Abbasid prince of Syrian origin, due to his ability to adapt and his excellent Arabic speaking. He was also a pioneer in espionage, coming to be at the service of the Government of Carlos IV.
Arabia, an exciting destination
Returning to the commission presented at the Ecuestre, its promoters confirmed that the first destination will be a route through Nabatea. The trip, which aims to be a new way of seeing the world, wants to discover to the members of the Ecuestre the wonders of Arabia that have been closed to the Western public for decades. Travelers will tour the things of the Red Sea, navigate the waters of the Persian Gulf, trek through the magnificent valleys near Jordan, and marvel at the fearsome sands of the Rub el-Khali.
