Jaume Collboni, mayor of Barcelona, attended the Círculo Ecuestre this Wednesday, December 13, to participate in the official opening of the fourth edition of the International Circle of Modern and Contemporary Art By Invitation. The President of the Círculo Ecuestre and curator of the exhibition, Enrique Lacalle, members of the club's Governing Board and the organizing committee of the exhibition received the first mayor at 11:15 this morning.

During his visit to the exhibition, Jaume Collboni visited the rooms of the modernist palace where he was able to talk with the gallery owners and contemplate the thousand works of art by world-renowned artists, such as Tàpies, Plensa, Picasso, Miró, Dalí and Barceló, among others, exhibited from today until December 17 in various rooms of the club. The mayor has also seen first-hand the Art Digital by OFFF exhibition, integrated for the first time in the artistic circle.

Once the visit was over, the mayor valued the work that By Invitation does in the cultural and artistic reputation of Barcelona: “I would like to congratulate the Círculo Ecuestre, its president, Enrique Lacalle, and the members of the club's Governing Board for this initiative that is being consolidated and that has to do with the city, with the art galleries and with this virtuous circle that is the creation, dissemination and commercialization of contemporary art." “In Barcelona we have a great wealth and tradition of art galleries and I think there is a good example in this modernist palace, in a particularly unique year for the 50th anniversary of Picasso's death and the commemoration of the Tàpies year, which begins today”, has added.

Collboni has pointed out that "Barcelona is making an effort, not only economically, to be a reference city in the technological and digital field, crossing two Barcelona virtues which are that technological and digital power and creation." In this sense, he thanked the exhibition for its work in integrating digital art into its exhibition: “By Invitation offers the opportunity to see an exhibition of contemporary digital art designed to consolidate the offering of collecting and galleries in our city.”

After thanking the mayor of Barcelona for the presence of the mayor at the inauguration, Enrique Lacalle, President of the Círculo Ecuestre and curator of the exhibition, was satisfied with the result of the fourth edition of the club's International Circle of Modern and Contemporary Art:

“By Invitation It is a meeting of modern and contemporary art that is becoming a classic in the city. Thanks to the extraordinary location of the club we have achieved continuity and complicity with the gallery owners. The exhibition has been consolidated, not because of its expansion year after year, since the palace does not have more space, but because of its work with Barcelona and with art."
