On Friday, March 7, the Círculo Ecuestre commemorated International Women's Day with a conference by Arancha Ruiz Bachs, CEO of Innero, a Career Development and Communications company for Leaders powered by AI.
After the presentation, made by Silvia Pares, PwC Partner Responsible for the Retail & Consumption Sector in the Legal and Tax Division at the national level and Member of the Governing Board of the Círculo Ecuestre, the professional development expert gave an interesting talk on the keys to managing a successful professional career and the challenges that women face in order to reach leadership positions, making strategic decisions that allow them to occupy roles of responsibility and overcome the structural barriers of the business environment.
The expert began her presentation by addressing the transformation of talent in a constantly changing world, highlighting the need to adapt without losing identity: "The two main qualities for professional success are adaptability and identity. You have to know when to be flexible and when to assert your strengths. If you are so rigid in your identity that you do not adapt, you break. But if you adapt without criteria, the wave sweeps you away."
In her speech, she explained that talent is not only based on technical skills, but on the ability to project confidence and generate impact: "Talent is a social construct. Skills can be more or less objective, but in the end, there is always someone who makes the decision and says: 'I don't know exactly what they are, but I trust you'. Therefore, it is not just about having the skills, it is about knowing how to transmit and generate the confidence that you will know how to do it".
Arancha Ruiz Bachs also stressed the importance of women occupying strategic positions within organizations, moving away from support roles and assuming key responsibilities: "Women must occupy roles of responsibility: people and budget, people and budget, people and budget". She also emphasized the need to take the initiative in professional development: "We have to throw ourselves into things that we do not control, even if they go wrong. It is not about doing a lot, but about doing it better".
Regarding the challenges that women still face in the workplace, Ruiz stressed the importance of guaranteeing opportunities for those who aspire to management positions: "We fight so that those who want to become managers can, but that does not mean that everyone has to be one, because it is not everyone's prize, it is a prize for some". She also stressed that leadership should not be perceived as an obligation, but as a real possibility for those who decide to assume it: "Female leadership is not a prize for everyone, but an opportunity for those who seek it". She also reflected on the cultural challenges that persist: "For a long time we have sought everyone's approval, and this is a big mistake. We should only speak to interested audiences, because they will generate an interesting conversation".
To close her presentation, Arancha Ruiz Bachs recommended her essential works for the development of talent and professional strategy: Ahora o Nunca, Qué busca el headhunter and El mapa de tu talento, with which she seeks to offer practical tools to those who wish to lead their own career and leave their mark in the business world.
The audience appreciated the speaker's knowledge, highlighting her contribution to International Women's Day through questions and an interesting dialogue. For its part, the Círculo Ecuestre once again reaffirmed its commitment to promoting female talent in the business world, promoting leadership and equal opportunities for women in the professional field.
