The Jonathan Club, located in Los Angeles, California, was initially created as a political group in 1894 but transitioned to a private social club shortly thereafter in 1895. Leading people from across the United States have been part of the club. It has two spaces: in Los Angeles and on the beach in Santa Monica. The Club is an oasis in bustling Los Angeles with its European Renaissance décor, luxurious furnishings and welcoming atmosphere. It is the home of the Ronald Reagan Distinguished American Award created in 1991 and both he and former First Lady Nancy Reagan were present at the initial award ceremony held in the club's main dining room. Among the honorees are the Reverend Billy Graham and Clint Eastwood.
