Founded in 1956 as an American press club, it gradually transformed into an international business club that was joined by people of various nationalities.
It is located in one of the most picturesque residential areas of the city, surrounded by a garden with a swimming pool and tennis courts. "The Villa Merton Mansion" was built in 1925 by Richard Merton, a renowned businessman following the baroque style of the time. During the war it was bombed, suffering significant damage. After the war, it was sold and transformed into the American press center. Later a business club was formed.
Today all the accredited diplomats in the city are members, as well as the advisers of the European Central Bank. Its restaurant has a star from the Michelin guide and is considered one of the best in the city. It has all the services for salons.
