The Royal Northen was founded in the Scottish city of Aberdeen in 1854 by 116 aristocrats, lawyers, bankers, military officers and landowners.
In 1955 it moved to its Albyn Place location. In the merger in 1979 with the University Club (a club founded in 1889) it was decided to keep the mansion at number 9 Albyn Place as the common headquarters.
It has ten rooms, five singles, two doubles, two doubles and one spacious suite. Recently restored, all of them include a bathroom, as well as a Wi-Fi connection and a television, among other equipment.
