Founded in 1831, it was initially located on King Street, moving to Garrick Street in 1864. It is located in the heart of the West End very close to the main theaters and Covent Garden. Its partners belong mainly to the world of dramatic art.
The Garrick club is a strictly male club, they do not admit female members unless they are accompanied by a member. They apply the same rule to partners/reciprocal partners.
It has 10 rooms, 5 doubles, 3 singles and two with separate beds.
There are three dining rooms: Coffee room, Irving Room and Milne Room. Ladies may only use the Milne Room at midday. In the evenings they can access the Coffee Room and the Milne Room. The bar is exclusively for gentlemen.
The club is open all year except for three weeks in the summer months. Some services do not work on holidays. There are several private dining rooms of different capacities. Game room, billiards room and two reading rooms. It has a very important library specializing in plays.
A letter of introduction is required.
Ladies must be accompanied by a partner.
Jacket and tie required.
You can pay in cash, traveller's checks and Master and Visa cards.
They do not accept tips.
