Founded in 1824, it is considered one of the most prestigious clubs in London. Its origin is closely linked to the East India Company, a company that controlled most of the trade with the Indians. The Duke of Wellington was named honorary president upon its founding.

The current building belonged since 1770 to great English aristocrats. It is located very close to Bond Street just a few meters from the Selfridges department store on Oxford Street.

Its kitchen is very well considered as well as the service available.

It offers several game rooms, armchairs, library, bar, restaurant.

It has 32 rooms with all the comforts.

Jacket and tie are required throughout the club.

Children under the age of 11 are not allowed to enter.

The use of mobile phones in the club is allowed, as well as taking out work papers in the rooms reserved for members.

Smoking is prohibited in the dining room and some lounges.
