Located high on a bluff, with a magnificent view of downtown Saint Paul and the Mississippi River Valley, the Clubhouse was designed by architect Allen H. Stem, a prominent and prolific Saint Paul architect known for his work on numerous houses on Summit Avenue and several local attractions such as the Saint Paul Hotel and the Saint Paul Athletic Club, a sister property of the University Club.
The main dining room, the Ramsey Room, offers the best views from the clubhouse: a spectacular, unobstructed view of the downtown Saint Paul skyline and miles of the Mississippi River Valley.
The University Club gym also has the same view as the Ramsey room. It features state-of-the-art cardio and exercise equipment and was completely renovated in 2015.
The second-floor library and Overlook room have been preserved and are still used as elegant private rooms for meetings and dining.
The Club has gardens and green spaces, an outdoor swimming pool, a clay tennis court and a children's play area.
Formal dress is required in all areas except sports areas.
The club does not have rooms but has an agreement with different neighboring properties such as the fabulous Hotel 340.
