The House, on Povarskaya St. has witnessed during the 130 years of its existence great changes of eras, generations and rulers. It survived wars, revolutions and popular uprisings. It used to be a place for weddings, coronations and ceremonial dinners. In 1934 it housed the Central House of Literaries (Centralniy Dom Literatorov) and some time later the homonymous Restaurant.
From the spring of 2017 it will be the first private international membership club in Moscow.
