The Círculo Ecuestre has hosted a new session of its Book Club, organized in collaboration with Planeta de Libros, featuring the participation of the lawyer and writer Javier Melero, author of Crímenes decentes. The meeting brought together members and attendees around a conversation about a work that combines suspense, judicial intrigue, and ethical reflection.
The session was presented by Isabel Estany, Vice-President of the Cultural Area of the Círculo Ecuestre, who welcomed the author and highlighted the value of these types of encounters to foster dialogue between literature and current affairs.
During the colloquium, Javier Melero shared the creation process of Crímenes decentes, a novel that delves into the investigation of an alleged murder and the preparation of a complex defense strategy. Through a plot set in the environment of an influential Barcelona family, the work explores the boundaries between justice, ethics, and personal dilemmas, establishing itself as a legal thriller of great narrative intensity.
A lawyer specialized in Criminal Law and a professor for years at the Pompeu Fabra University, Melero has developed an outstanding professional career combining the practice of law with teaching and collaborating with media outlets such as La Vanguardia, RAC1, RTVE, or TV3. With this new session, the Book Club of the Círculo Ecuestre has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting culture and critical thinking, bringing its members closer to leading authors of the current literary scene.
