The Círculo Ecuestre hosted the presentation of ‘Memorias de anteayer’, the work in which Federico Trillo-Figueroa, Spanish politician, jurist, and writer from the Partido Popular, conveys his vision on the evolution of the State to paper.

The event was opened by Enrique Lacalle, President of the Círculo Ecuestre, who thanked the author for his participation in this lecture series. Manuel Milián, journalist and former MP, moderated the colloquium where the passages of a work that, beyond the author's personal career, is structured as a chronicle of the functioning of State institutions from the Transition to the present day, were examined.

In the book, Federico Trillo has crafted an analysis of the process of institutional consolidation from his perspective as a jurist and expert in parliamentary architecture. Through its pages, the author looks back at his experience in various administrative bodies, such as the presidency of the Spanish Parliament, offering a technical reading of Spanish legislative development. The book was presented as an exercise in documentary memory that seeks to provide context on how the current administrative system was forged, based on direct experience in public management.

During the colloquium, the process of configuration and evolution of the different political trends in contemporary Spain was addressed. Trillo contributed his vision on the mechanisms of consensus and the institutional strategies that defined past decades, as well as anecdotes from his career and lessons learned from his experience.

The conversation between the speaker and Manuel Milián served to reflect on the importance of historical and documentary memory as a tool for understanding the complexity of today's public scenario.

The gathering concluded with a book signing, where attendees were able to discuss specific aspects of this chronicle of Spanish public life with the author, thus closing a day dedicated to the analysis of governance and institutional trajectory.
